15 years ago, we carried out the first installation of our OneBase®MFT transport control system in a slab yard in Brazil. The slabs are taken from the PrimetalsTechnologies continuous casting plant and tracked by the ABF system in the warehouse. In cooperation with a PSI Software Warehouse Management solution, all slab transports are controlled via the transport control system.
Even then, we combined the software solution on the cranes and ground vehicles with robust localization and sensor technology for the purpose of seamless material tracking. 15 years of reliable operation – and the system still impresses today!
Last year, 11 heavy-duty ground vehicles were already upgraded to a high-precision RTK GNSS from Septentrio. Now our colleagues Michael and Siegi were back on site and, as part of the retrofit, successfully updated the Symeo LPR® (Local Positioning Radar) and Siemens PLC components on 4 cranes to the latest state of the art.
