The exact detection of the position of the heavy plates (+- 30 cm) within the storage yard buildings Z2 and Z3 is the basis for a sophisticated storage control and logistics system. Therefore all the 8 yard cranes are equipped with a Local Positioning Radar (LPR) system, controllers for load detection and Industry-PC’s for MMI.

The primary objective of the project was the optimization of the material flow regarding  throughput and delivery reliability.
