ABF develops together with the partner Cirquent Austria a material and a production logistics system for an international company in the steel sector.

On the basis of the establishment of a fully automatic temporary storage the goal of the project is to support the entire final production area by a modern MES system. Tasks of the system are, beside administration of order data and production confirmations, direct binding of the rack control system and a quality data acquisition system with a high sampling rate. Using a state of the art browser interface all the functions of the order and quality data system can be handled, including production control and assembling of dispatch units. Due to the architecture based on most modern technologies it is possible to roll out the system at further locations of the company in the future with minimum adaptation costs. Basis for the development are the two Manufacturing integration tools SAP MII and ABF OneBase. SAP MII (Manufacturing integration and Intelligence) provides substantial components for the binding of SAP ERP and peripheral equipment, as well as a modern application server infrastructure. ABF OneBase is used for the high-performance data sampling and for production near representation by measured values. The two partners Cirquent Austria as a SAP specialist and ABF as an automation specialist guarantee a rapid and customer specific implementation of the project.
